Caribbean Poker is a casino table game based off the same rules as five card poker. Each player begins by placing an ante on the table. Five cards are then dealt to the player and to the dealer. The dealer will only qualify if they have an Ace-King hand or better.
After seeing their cards the player has the option to make a bet, which is twice the amount of the initial ante, or to fold and lose the ante. If the player makes the bet and beats the dealer, but the dealer does not qualify, the player wins back the initial bet and ante, and wins even money on the ante. If the player makes the bet and beats the dealer with a qualifying hand, the player wins even money on the bet and the ante.
Caribbean Stud is well known for having progressive jackpots attached to the game. It generally costs £1 per hand to become eligible for the progressive. The jackpot will pay out a predetermined amount of money to the player if they have a flush or higher, regardless if they win the current hand or not. A Royal Flush is required to win 100% of the jackpot. |
